Vicki Hopkinson

Vicki Hopkinson came to prominence when she was awarded the David Cargill prize by the Royal Glasgow Institute in 1998.  Educated at Lomond School, Helensburgh, Scotland, and graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 1991, she now lives in Colorado.  Her main interest is in animals, particularly domestic, and she captures their varying personalities in her work.  She has developed a distinctive style, using mixed media, of incorporating gold leaf, tissue and calligraphy.  Varying from subtle hues to vibrant, intense splashes of color, her mixed media and oil paintings always show freshness
and spontaneity. She is represented in galleries in the US and Scotland.
