Ovanes Berberian
| A native of Armenia, Berberian
is one of the finest landscape painters in America today. Sergei Bongart, a philosopher and painter, was a great influence in his life. Although his tenure with Bongart was short, Berberian carries forward that love for the process of making art. "His sensitivity to values and colors was Russian in spirit, and it spoke to me". Ovanes Berberian's work is unfailingly vibrant. This is a result of his color sense and his technique of blending several colors with each stroke. "The best landscape painters use their imaginations," says Berberian. "You must draw on the creative side of your brain. When you join your imagination and your sense of color with nature, the canvas comes alive". |
