Originally
from Oklahoma, deceased photographer Myron Wood became a student
of Edward Westonin the late 1940s after the decision to devote
himself fully to his childhood hobby – photography. He later
moved to Colorado in 1947, where he discovered his love for
the Southwest. He was photographer and Assistant Curator of
Photography at The Taylor Museum of the Colorado Springs Fine
Arts Center from 1951 to 1961and the photographer for Colorado
College
for over 35 years. Wood embarked on several photographic projects
including photographing prominent Hopi, Zuni and Navajo women
and documenting Southwestern Colorado and Northern New Mexico. |
