Brian Clifford

Brian Clifford’s paintings and drawings follow in the tradition of Homer, Hopper, Sargent and Wyeth and have a tendency to express a time and place that can easily resonate with the viewer. He looks for the occurrence of man legitimately working in the environment and eventually becoming part of it. His creative process includes moving about his world, making
sketches and notes in the field with pencil and paper, then going into the studio, and transferring the drawing to a painting surface. His images often come from actual places and others are imaginary but based upon a real experience.
